About the Book:
Soul Friend is an honest and intimate portrayal of the author's own journey with her wise, spiritual mentor and the warm, life-giving relationship that developed between them during their fifteen years of meeting together. This story is written in the hope that it will inspire many not only to seek out such a spiritual friendship for themselves but also to provide such a friendship for another.
Beautifully written, this honest and insightful memoir is an inspiring celebration of the ancient art of spiritual companionship. Dr Rick Lewis
Soul friendship is a very under-emphasised resource of Christian discipleship, particularly for Christian leaders. Jo-Anne has written honestly, beautifully, sensitively and powerfully. Dr Keith Farmer

My Thoughts:
When I first heard of this book I really wanted to read it, not just because I really like Jo-Anne's other books, but because mentoring younger women is something that I am interested in doing - in a formal way.
I didn't always agree with what Jo-Anne said, but that is probably because of differences in upbringing, life circumstances, and our individual interpretation of Scripture.
Not all mentoring/shared spiritual journeys will look the same, so this was a really good look at how these two women shared their spiritual journey together.

Thanks so much, Beth, for sharing your thoughts about my 'Soul Friend' book. I liked your honesty that you didn't agree with everything, but it sounds as if you still found some valuable insights there as far as your own mentoring of others goes. I hope so anyway! God bless you as you share the journeys of others in this way.
